Council seeks measurable objectives on circulation, quiet zones, microtransit and several pedestrian projects

Council discussed microtransit and agreed to seek grants for local microtransit or public-transportation opportunities that locally support a regional approach rather than pursuing an isolated, city‑only geofenced microtransit system; members said regional coordination with agencies such as NCTD or SANDAG should inform any program design.
Regarding rail crossings and pedestrian safety, council emphasized continued work on quiet zones and at‑grade crossing improvements, requested staff include a phased approach and funding plan in the objectives, and asked that Santa Fe roadway evaluation and potential changes be completed on a 3–4 month timeline. Members also asked for objectives to advance La Posta Ped Path grant funding efforts, Vulcan North initial design (an initial or 'light' implementation to enable faster public access), and Trail 82 funding or design steps.
Staff agreed to return with refined objectives, grant strategies and timelines for each mobility item at the April 9 meeting.
