Rockwall ISD trustees approve superintendent contract, school naming and multiple construction and technology contracts

Rockwall Independent School District trustees voted unanimously at a regular March meeting to approve the superintendent's contract, adopt a resolution naming Middle School No. 4 for longtime educator Ursula Rayko, and award several construction and technology contracts funded from the district's 2021 bond program and potential federal E-rate grants.

The board approved the superintendent's contract in a vote following closed session, adopted a resolution renaming Middle School No. 4 as Ursula Rayko Middle School, and authorized contract awards for roof and building-envelope repairs at multiple campuses plus Wi-Fi infrastructure upgrades. Trustees also approved a short-term increase in the district's energy contracting ceiling to 9.5' per kilowatt-hour and delegated contracting authority for a limited summer hiring period.
