Nassau commissioners OK $250,000 FEMA-state mitigation grant application for Thomas Creek project

Stormwater staff (identified in the record as Ivaros) told commissioners the grant would support mitigation work in the Thomas Creek area and noted the grant carries a 0% local-match requirement. "The nice thing is, commissioner Martin always asks, what is our match? In this case, there's a 0% match. So it's $250,000 towards the project without a match requirement," staff said.
Commissioners had no further substantive questions on the request. Commissioner Grama moved to approve the application; Commissioner McCullough seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
If the county receives the grant, staff will return with implementation details and any required procurement or engineering scopes for the Thomas Creek mitigation work.
