EDC approves consent agenda and sponsors Dickinson Pilot Club reindeer run

At its March 10 meeting the Dickinson Economic Development Corporation approved the consent agenda and separately approved a $3,000 sponsorship for the Dickinson Pilot Club’s reindeer run, vendor fair and tour-of-homes festival.
The consent agenda — approved in a single motion with no recorded dissent — included: approval of the Feb. 10, 2025 meeting minutes; the January 2025 EDC financial investment report; the January 2025 EDC account statement for Texas First Bank and the tax pool; the February 2025 monthly administration service fee transfer request; and the February 2025 payroll transfer request. The motion carried after an affirmative voice vote.
Later in the meeting, after a public comment from Cindy DiPalermo on behalf of the Dickinson Pilot Club and a short staff clarification that the EDC would be providing a sponsorship rather than a grant, Board member Tom moved to sponsor the club’s reindeer run and festival; the motion was seconded by Matt Sabatier and approved by voice vote. Board members discussed publicity possibilities — signage and social media — and asked staff to coordinate promotional tie-ins with the EDC’s educational series.
