TAMARAC, Fla. — Parks staff presented survey results indicating strong public preference to keep and renovate Glades Golf Course rather than convert it to short courses or a putt-putt facility.
Rudolph Galindo said the city has $3.3 million allocated for the Glades Course project and that district meetings in 2024 showed about 70% favor renovating and leaving the golf course as is. An online survey that closed Feb. 28 drew 1,242 responses and staff said roughly 80% of participants favored keeping the course and renovating greens and pathways.
Why it matters: the allocation means the city can move forward with improvements if the Commission so directs. Staff said the outreach included district meetings, an online survey and a community workshop.
Next step: Galindo said staff will include the Glades Course as a discussion item on the upcoming regular Commission agenda so the Commission can provide direction on moving forward with renovations.
