The Village of Clemmons council on March 24, 2025, unanimously approved the minutes of its March 10 regular meeting and the night's agenda, heard an events coordinator update about recent community activities and upcoming events, and entered a closed session under North Carolina law for a personnel matter; the council reported no action taken after the closed session.
Events coordinator/assistant manager reported the village's participation in Forsyth County Creek Week, noting more than 70 countywide events and a local cleanup that drew 68 volunteers who collected about 50 bags of trash. The coordinator said a medicine drop at the James Street Fire Station served 76 cars and collected about 200 pounds of unused medication. Upcoming community programs announced included shoreline kit giveaways at Public Works (this Thursday and Friday), Wheels and Squeals at Morgan Elementary on April 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Clemons Community Day and the Clemons Farmers Market kickoff on April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In public comment, Mike Sullivan identified himself as representing the Clemmons Food Pantry and thanked Lynette Fox for recent work that benefited the pantry and the broader community. "Lynette Fox is a gem," Sullivan said, praising her outreach and coordination on recent donation drives.
Council members praised recent walk audits led by volunteers Doug and Caroline that gathered resident feedback in targeted neighborhoods; Councilman Taylor thanked the volunteers and noted strong citizen turnout for the audits. Taylor also congratulated High Point University on conference tournament championships for both its men's and women's basketball teams and their NCAA appearances.
Procedural votes at the meeting were unanimous. A motion to enter closed session for "discussion of personnel matters in accordance with NCGS 143-318.11(a)(6)" passed by voice vote; council members later returned to open session and reported no action taken in closed session.
The meeting adjourned after the closed-session return. No ordinance or budget items were adopted at the meeting.
