The Revere City Council Appointments Subcommittee on March 24 approved 14 appointments and reappointments to local boards and commissions, including the Cultural Council, the Public Art Commission and the Council on Elder Affairs.
Chairwoman McKenna called for each nominee to state name and address for the record and asked each councilor if they wished to comment. Appointees approved on the night included Jamie Jimenez to the Cultural Council; Deborah DeFilippo West to the Cultural Council; Diana Cardona to the Public Art Commission; and multiple appointments and reappointments to the Council on Elder Affairs, among others. Councilors offered brief endorsements and the committee used voice votes recorded as “all in favor… so ordered” to approve each appointment.
Several councilors praised individual nominees’ community service. Councilor Hess thanked appointees to the senior‑services board for their support of the senior center. Chairwoman McKenna noted that those appointed that evening did not need to remain for the remainder of the meeting after their confirmation.
The committee approved the following (as recorded at the meeting): Jamie Jimenez (Cultural Council); Deborah DeFilippo West (Cultural Council); Diana Cardona (Public Art Commission); Nina DeFreitas (Council on Elder Affairs); Lucretia Duran (Council on Elder Affairs); Nancy Moncovich (Council on Elder Affairs); Anne Marie Drukis (recorded in the meeting as Amberie Druckis) (Council on Elder Affairs); Kathleen Smith (Council on Elder Affairs); Lois Antonicola D'Ambrosio (Council on Elder Affairs — reappointment); Eleanor Viera (Council on Elder Affairs — reappointment); Denise Rammelberg (Council on Elder Affairs — reappointment); Sandy Lozier (Council on Elder Affairs — reappointment); Robert Hanlon (Council on Elder Affairs — reappointment); Linda Doherty (Council on Elder Affairs — reappointment, excused from attendance).
Each appointment vote was taken by voice; the clerk recorded the outcome as approved for each nominee. The appointees and reappointees will be reflected in the city’s official appointments list and will assume their duties according to the commissions’ rules and schedules.
