Council staff read a request stating that Council member Breton sought to join the meeting by Microsoft Teams from the Comfort Suites Hotel at 2603 Southwest 13th Street in Gainesville, Florida because he was attending the World Athletics indoor track championships. The clerk said the request was made pursuant to "rule 3 d 4 b of council's rules of procedure." A motion to permit electronic participation was made, seconded and approved by roll call.
The vote was recorded as aye by Miss Jones, Miss Robertson, Miss Trammell, Vice President Jurden and President Newby. The clerk stated the motion had been approved and that Breton could participate virtually.
Council President Newby noted for the record that council had a quorum with Councilors Gibson, Lynch and Miss Auerbach absent.
The council proceeded with a docket review after approving the electronic participation; the clerk announced several consent items were recommended for continuance or approval and that there were no regular agenda items for the evening.
