EDTA authorizes up to $8,000 in purchases to support firing-range project funded by Cherokee Nation grant

The Pryor Creek Economic Development Trust Authority on Feb. 10 authorized up to $8,000 in purchases to support construction work at the city firing range, subject to presentation of invoices and reimbursement from funds the EDTA is holding from the Cherokee Nation.
Staff told trustees the Cherokee Nation offered $115,071 to the EDTA to purchase supplies for the firing-range project; the nation stipulated the funds be used for construction materials (concrete, piping and similar supplies) and not for surveys or engineering. The city's contractor, GRDA, had mobilized to resume dirt work and staff said they had secured a floodplain development permit and other regulatory items needed to proceed.
Trustees reviewed a vendor estimate that included: 200 feet of 24-inch heavy-duty drainage pipe (estimated $5,980), four end sections at about $262 each and roughly 2,000 feet of silt fence estimated at $900. Staff recommended approval of up to $8,000 to purchase those items and to have the street department initially procure them and then be reimbursed by the EDTA upon presentation of invoices.
The motion approved disbursement of up to $8,000 conditional on receipt of appropriate invoices. Trustees also discussed protecting an adjacent county-owned cemetery during construction and said the GRDA crew had been shown the cemetery boundary.
The recorded vote was unanimous among trustees present.
