Douglas County schools open bus-advertising program to local businesses to offset fuel costs

Douglas County School District staff told the board they are launching a pilot program to sell advertising space on the outside of district school buses to local businesses, with proceeds earmarked to offset transportation fuel costs.
Haley Sabahar, the district’s director of marketing and communication, presented the program at the board meeting and said the district has measured potential sign locations and confirmed the buses are magnetic‑capable. "We have 35 buses that run the AM and PM routes, and we also have 8 buses that run the midday routes," Sabahar told trustees.
