Fire activity and calls: Drew Smith of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said Topanga saw a light call load in February with 19 calls: zero fires, nine medical calls, zero hazardous-materials incidents, one service call and nine good-intent calls. He stressed that the season remains active and that property-level actions now reduce risk later: “This is the time to really look at our home hardening practices,” he told the meeting.
