The Duchesne County Library Board discussed plans for the Duchesne branch grand opening scheduled for April 12 during the March 18 meeting at Roosevelt Library.
Library staff said they have coordinated with the Utah State University Extension and the local senior center; those partners will help with refreshments and activities. "We've talked with USU Extension and the senior center ... the senior center's like, we'll do the cookie," a library staff member said. Staff expect partners to finalize event details at a meeting the week after the board session.
Staff suggested opening at about 10 a.m. and running roughly two hours for the most active period. Board members noted that the branch staff presence at the opening would be important; one board member said staff could close their regular shift at the branch and attend the grand opening to support activities.
The library will prepare a mailer promoting the event and the staff member said there will be staff‑led activities. Board members offered to help where needed and asked staff to report final logistics after partner meetings later in the week.
