The motion authorized staff to proceed with the rulemaking file, submit materials for required departmental and agency review, and to publish the rulemaking if no adverse comments are received.
Staff explained the regulations clarify certification and program eligibility language and make technical updates to align the board's regulations with statutory changes. One specific change addresses the board's recognition of certain legacy national certifications for advanced practice categories (language tied to the 2024 statute), ensuring those certifications remain eligible for scope recognition under board rules.
The board opened a public comment period and heard no in‑room or WebEx requests on the regulatory package. The motion directed the executive officer to take necessary administrative steps, including making non‑substantive edits and scheduling a hearing if requested. If no adverse comments are received during the 45‑day comment period, staff were authorized to complete the rulemaking without returning to the board.
The vote was unanimous; staff will submit the package to the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Secretary of Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency for review and proceed as allowed under administrative procedure.
