Eastern Heights students give 'Aristocats' performance at Elyria City School Board meeting

Eastern Heights Elementary students performed a short excerpt from their February production of Disney's The Aristocats for the Elyria City School Board at its March 19 meeting.
The presentation was introduced by Superintendent Anne Schloss, who invited Eastern Heights administrative staff to the front of the room before the students performed. Sarah Harding, the production director, told the board she'd directed the production. Music director Angela Heaton, costume/set lead Heather Hale and production manager Sharni Hartley also introduced themselves and the advisory team.
Harding said the board would see "just a little snippet of songs from our production that we did back in February," and that the district presented a partial cast at the meeting. Board members and the superintendent thanked the students and staff after the performance.
The district displayed photographs of the cast during the presentation. Superintendent Schloss opened the segment by asking the Eastern Heights administrative staff to identify themselves, naming Bridal Whitman and assistant principal Corey Adams from the elementary, and Jay Keith, Dana Cerrito and assistant principal Todd Church for the middle/high group.
The board did not take any formal action on the performance; the presentation concluded and the meeting moved on to routine business.
The presentation arrived amid a short meeting that included approval of minutes, financial reports, contracts and personnel actions.
