ARPA monitoring finds most grants spent; county awaiting responses on eight grants

Norfolk County staff reported Oct. 1 that monitoring of American Rescue Plan Act grants identified 21 grants as complete, returned about $4,000 to the county so far, and is awaiting information from Medfield, Franklin and Plainville on eight outstanding grants.
Director Grama told the Norfolk County Commission on Oct. 1 that monitoring of local American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grants is nearly complete, with 21 grants identified as complete and fully spent and a small amount of funds due back to the county.
"There are 21 grants that are identified as complete, and fully spent," Director Grama said. He told commissioners that feedback had been received from approximately 13 of the grant recipients and that the county had identified about $4,000 that is due to be returned for future distribution.
Grama said the county is still awaiting responses from Medfield, Franklin and Plainville on eight grants collectively and that work continues with staff — including Bill Galvin and Bill Buckley — to collect monitoring information. "As soon as those funds are returned, I will present to the commissioners a proposed transfer request based on the availability of those funds," Grama said.
No formal action was recorded on the ARPA monitoring update at the Oct. 1 meeting; the director said a fuller report would follow after the remaining communities respond.
