The Vinita City Council voted to enter executive session at 6:15 p.m. to discuss three items under Oklahoma’s open‑meetings exemptions: the hiring of a probationary firefighter, the resignation of a patrolman and potential transfer/transport of property for economic development purposes.
Council member Bridal moved and Council member Tyler seconded to enter executive session; the motion passed unanimously. No final hiring, disciplinary or property‑transfer actions were taken in public at the Oct. 7 meeting; the council entered closed session as allowed under Title 25, Oklahoma Statutes §307.
