City announces summer photo-festival internships and completion of Greg Brown mural touch-ups

Staff said the intern application period is open with a March 28 deadline and that the roles will primarily support the city’s photo-art festival; the notice and application information are available on the city website. Staff also presented before-and-after images of recent conservation work on two Greg Brown murals—one described as a more substantial restoration to the garbage collector mural and the other as minor touch-ups to a “boy fishing” mural. Staff noted previous paint loss, cracking and pigment blanching and said restorers were able to resaturate the pigment and address cracking.
