Applicant representatives said the proposal now includes a lot‑line revision that would reduce the terminal parcel from roughly 3.4 acres to about 2.5 acres by transferring a 100‑foot strip to the adjacent lot. Anthony (Hometown Engineering) and Matt Cool, vice president of Student Bus, described revisions submitted since the board's February presentation: a revised site plan, landscaping, a septic evaluation and ongoing coordination with the Orange County Department of Health.
John Haley, identified as an owner/operator, said Building 1 would be used for vehicle maintenance bays, offices for dispatch and a drivers' room; he described operational routines and said drivers typically return between trips and park personal vehicles on site. Board members and staff questioned whether the proposed bus stalls provided adequate turning radii and jockeying space; members said the drawing appeared tight and asked the applicant to demonstrate maneuverability and parking layout on revised plans.
Members also asked for details on diesel and gasoline tank locations, fuel containment and concrete pad design; the applicant said tanks would be double‑walled and mounted on concrete pads, and agreed to relocate tanks if necessary. Snow storage and bus‑wash arrangements were discussed; the applicant said washing is generally done off‑site and that snow is either stored on‑site in hashed areas or hauled away when necessary.
Town planner Sean advised that the board needs the traffic study before declaring lead agency and scheduling a public hearing. The board voted to tentatively set a public hearing for April 17 and instructed the applicant to provide the traffic study by the April 3 meeting; the motion passed with the board recording "all in favor."
Next steps: applicant to deliver the traffic study and revised plans addressing parking/turning, fueling pad design, septic documentation and any additional comments from the town engineer prior to the public hearing.
