Facilities staff reported lead testing (the district’s triennial testing) found a small number of fixtures that exceeded the action threshold; those fixtures were taken out of service and, according to principals, were not heavily used. Administrators clarified the required lead threshold is very low and described the consultant’s testing procedure.
The facilities update included timeline notes: bond sale scheduled for early April (district seeking favorable rates), an October–February timetable projected for the turf field (separate from the referendum projects), and fall/next‑spring timing for additional building conversions and the high‑school auditorium. Officials said some environmental findings (mercury‑containing flooring in specific spaces) will be remediated without extended shutdowns, saving time and cost.
Administrators also said they will upgrade public communications and the district website to provide clearer project timelines and progress tracking, and that the administration plans to relocate three content‑area supervisors to 79 Glover Avenue ahead of a separate plan to repurpose the old administrative office.
No final board action was taken on new contracts during the facilities report, though the board later approved routine awards and an RFP for custodial services during the consent vote portion of the meeting.
