The Town of Lakeville Library Board of Trustees voted to accept an updated tutoring policy that formalizes the library’s existing practices for tutors and study‑room use.
Trustee Nancy Lefebvre moved to adopt the tutoring policy; the board seconded the motion and approved it. Board members noted they have not encountered schedule conflicts under the existing informal approach and that three to four tutors attend regularly.
During the same discussion, trustees reviewed a draft wireless policy. Several members suggested folding the wireless language into the library’s computer and internet use policy because the topics overlap. The board decided not to vote on the wireless policy at this meeting and asked staff to recirculate a consolidated draft at a future meeting.
By adopting the tutoring policy now and consolidating the wireless language later, trustees said they hoped to maintain clarity for patrons while reducing duplication in the policy manual.
