The group agreed to research local usage and impacts and to review successful policies from other counties. A board member volunteered to contact local retailers (Smith’s) to understand how a bag ban or fees might affect them and to check how White Rock’s charging-for-bags approach is working. Angelica and other staff offered to scan and share historical materials the group identified so those documents are preserved and available for review.
No policy recommendation was made at the meeting; members said the working group will return with research findings and stakeholder outreach results for future discussion.
