Derby planning commission grants three‑month extension for Spring Ridge final plat recording

On March 20, 2025 the City of Derby Planning Commission approved, by voice vote 10–0, a request to extend the deadline for recording the final plat associated with a prior R‑1 to R‑3 zone change in the Spring Ridge addition. The new deadline is Oct. 21, 2025.
Staff explained that the original zone change (granted in 2024) required the applicant to record a final plat by July 23, 2025. The applicant, which changed consultant/agent from Boffman Company to BHC, requested a short extension to ensure sufficient time to prepare the final plat. Planning staff recommended the three‑month extension and commissioners approved it without further comment.
The extension is administrative in nature and does not change the underlying rezoning that was previously approved. The commission recorded no public opposition at the hearing and set the new filing deadline as requested.
