D11 board reviews draft employee handbook; debates complaint process, mid‑year revisions and seniority rules

The Colorado Springs School District No. 11 Board of Education on March 19 reviewed a draft employee handbook developed by the district—s Employee Engagement Group (EEG) and discussed how staff complaints would be handled, how handbook revisions should be triggered and approved, and how seniority and step placement apply when employees leave and return.

Board President Melpakam opened the segment by summarizing the listening sessions the board held at four high schools and saying the district will “take into consideration the feedback that you provided in these listening sessions, and your voice certainly matters.”
