At-a-glance: Saint Croix School Board votes on finances, shared services, policies and closed session

The Saint Croix School District Board of Education took several routine votes at its March 19 meeting.

Financial report: The board approved the financial report as of Feb. 28 showing Citizens State Bank checking $2,198,157.02; money market $12,288.60; Fund 46 $59.71; suicide-prevention $5,287.56; referendum balance $439,639.86; total balance $2,655,432.75. A motion to approve the financial report was moved and seconded; the board approved the report by voice vote.

Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda by voice vote (motion and second on the record; no opposition recorded).

Shared services with CISA (regional cooperative services): The board approved renewal of required cooperative services (CSA administration, cooperative bidding and delivery service) and several instructional-support renewals, resulting in a net decrease of roughly $5,000 from the prior year after dropping a small number of items. Jeff moved and Dave seconded; the board approved the shared-services contract by voice vote.

Policy: The board approved the second reading of policy 361.2 (library material selection). The board also discussed a set of first-reading policy templates to be added from the Policy Resource Guide and plans to proceed with additional policy reviews over coming months; motion for the second reading carried by voice vote.

Closed session: The board voted to convene into closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c) to consider employment, promotion, compensation, performance evaluation data of public employees and related personnel matters. A second was recorded (Lance); the roll call produced ayes and the board entered closed session.
