Saint Croix students and advisors present FBLA successes; 23 state finalists and regional hosting recognized

Students and advisors from the Saint Croix School District presented an FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) highlight during the March 19 meeting, describing competitions, community service and leadership activities.
Tracy Crowley (FBLA director) and Tammy Hifton (FBLA coordinator) accompanied students Annabel Worley and Phoenix Troes for the presentation. Annabel Worley said the chapter has about 40 members and that the group raised $394.53 at regionals for the Alzheimer's Association and wrote thank-you notes to local police, fire and first responders.
Students described hosting a regional conference that drew roughly 575 participants from more than 37 high schools across nine counties, with 68 competitive business-related events. The district's chapter had 23 state finalists; Worley and Troes each placed second in their events and the chapter received second place for "outstanding chapter" based on number of students placing in the top three.
The students recounted workshops they organized or hosted (digital marketing, podcasting/broadcasting, screen printing) and said alumni support and district staff helped run the conference. Phoenix Troes was elected incoming Region 1 vice president and is expected to represent the region at the national FBLA conference in Anaheim.
Board members and the superintendent thanked the students and advisors for the presentation and for organizing events that brought other districts to the school.
