Sandpoint council approves consent calendar; postpones McGee water-service appeal and holds executive-session vote

The Sandpoint City Council on March 19 took three recorded procedural votes: approving the consent calendar, postponing an appeal and convening an executive session.

Council approved the consent calendar, with the finance clerk reporting regular payables totaling $587,325.51. The motion to approve was moved by Council President Deb Rule and seconded; the roll call in the record shows unanimous support from council members present.

On an old-business item concerning the McGee Development water-service appeal, council voted to postpone the matter and to accept additional time for staff and the appellant to continue discussions. The item was moved and seconded; the council record shows the postponement to the May 7 meeting passed on a roll-call vote.

For the meeting's final agenda item, council voted to convene an executive session "pursuant to code 74 2 0 6 1 f" (as stated in the meeting) for the purpose of communicating with legal counsel about legal ramifications and options for a likely-to-be-litigated matter. The motion to go into executive session passed on a roll-call vote.

The meeting then recessed for the executive session and adjourned after non-participating attendees were asked to leave. No substantive policy votes on ordinances or capital projects were adopted during the public portion of the March 19 meeting.
