Commissioner Fuller moved "for approval in accordance with the attached resolution with 2 conditions and 2 notations and that this item be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners for their consideration." The motion was seconded by Commissioner Shipples. The commission recorded unanimous affirmative votes from all eight voting members.
Commissioner Marais noted that the letter received from a member of the public addresses issues more appropriate for the preliminary plan stage. Marais asked staff to carry the letter into the preliminary plan file so it will be part of that later review. Chair Tom Bailey confirmed the letter would be included in the record and the item was forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners.
Staff members were present and acknowledged in the meeting; no substantive public testimony opposing the rezoning was entered into the commission's deliberations on the record. The planning commission's action is a recommendation; the Board of County Commissioners will make the final decision at a subsequent meeting.
