Staff also said two Dutch Bros coffee shops (one on La Sierra/Lecture Drive and another near Cameron and Central Avenue) and a new hotel are likely to appear on future planning commission agendas.
On advanced planning, staff said the General Plan land‑use plan is being finalized, followed by a traffic analysis, and that the commission will be invited to a future workshop once land‑use details are settled. Staff described development of commercial design guidelines (initial subcommittee workshop completed; stakeholder outreach planned with an anticipated target to finalize preliminary guidelines by summer) and said the historic resources inventory has completed phase 1 and phase 2 field work and that a draft report is forthcoming.
Staff also described work on an update to the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, which staff said will support CEQA compliance for future projects and will proceed alongside the General Plan update; staff announced a community workshop scheduled for the day after the commission meeting. The presentation was offered as an informational update; no formal action was taken. Chair and commissioners thanked the departing Commissioner Ross and noted the vice chair vacancy will be placed on the next agenda for selection.
