County staff said Dutch John has not provided appropriate ambulance service and that the county has discussed a temporary agreement with Golden Cross to fill the gap. The county also said it has offered assistance to Dutch John but noted legal limits on the county's authority to provide emergency response directly without agreement. "We have offered our services to this John with the notice on that that we are legally cannot provide response to this John," a county official said.
Darren Bushman, identified in meeting materials as director of StadiumS management, was cited as having been in contact about ambulance coverage. Staff said Dutch John may be relying on a mutual-aid arrangement with Golden Cross, but that mutual aid requires a primary service to be in place; staff described three options Dutch John must consider to become compliant with emergency-service requirements.
Commissioners said they are negotiating mutual-aid agreements with neighboring jurisdictions, including Wyoming and Sweetwater County, and emphasized the need for formal written agreements for cross-border responses.
No formal action was taken at the meeting; staff said they will continue outreach to Dutch John and to potential mutual-aid partners and will report back to the commission.
