Mr. Flores presented a child nutrition requisition request for the board's review. He said the child nutrition department, using the child nutrition fund, is requesting approval of a requisition in the amount of $400,000 for food purchases from Dairy Farmers of America through the Region 20 Texas Food cooperative to support meal operations through the remainder of the 2024'25 school year.
During the presentation Mr. Flores referenced board policy "CH Local" and said in accordance with that policy the item was being brought for review and approval; the transcript also records the statement that "this is a requisition over $550,000," which conflicts with the $400,000 figure that Flores subsequently cited. The transcript does not resolve that inconsistency; the amount to be approved as presented in the work session was $400,000 and staff said the item will be placed on the agenda for action at Monday's regular board meeting.
No board action was taken at the work session; the item was informational and scheduled for formal consideration at the upcoming meeting.
