The Gilroy City Council adopted an ordinance on second reading to rezone a 37.5‑acre parcel (APN 810‑230‑005) from agricultural (A‑1) to Residential Hillside to align zoning with the 2040 general plan designation.
Staff reported the council had previously approved the zone change on first reading in February by a 6–1 vote. The ordinance returned for a statutorily required second reading; no additional public speakers appeared and staff recommended formal adoption. Council member Klein moved to adopt and Council member Bracco seconded the motion.
During roll call the council recorded one dissenting vote (Council member Fugazi voted ‘no’), and the ordinance carried with the remaining members voting in favor. Staff said the rezoning is consistent with the city’s general plan and allows future development review consistent with the hillside residential designation.
