Commissioners praised the volunteers and indicated support for increasing county funding. Commissioner David Forsyth and others said the county’s contribution helped avoid repayment risk on earlier grants and kept the county eligible for additional awards. Commissioner Folsom asked why the committee requested only $7,000; the presenter said the figure reflects historical appropriations but that she would submit a revised request with a higher minimum.
The committee requested that the commissioners continue annual support and consider a larger appropriation during the upcoming budget cycle to allow the committee to pursue additional repairs and grant matches.
