A Fort Pierce special magistrate on March 17 found a parking violation occurred at 210 Indian River Drive on Dec. 9, 2024, and assessed a $78 penalty to the registered owner, Olivia Ann Newsom Hall.
Officer Lapoya of the Fort Pierce Police Department presented photographic evidence and testified that a citation (number 6952PK) was issued for parking against the flow of traffic (cited as 34-31N). Lapoya said the photographs, taken on Dec. 9, show the vehicle parked against the traffic flow; the city entered the photos as its composite exhibit 1.
The magistrate assessed a $50 fine, a $10 administrative fee and an $18 late fee, for a total of $78. The magistrate ordered that failure to pay the citation within 15 days will result in the citation being forwarded to the county court system for collection. A 30-day right to appeal was also announced.
No testimony disputing the photographic evidence was presented at the hearing; the officer said there was no further information from the city.
