Votes at a glance (committee action: forward to full City Council unless otherwise noted):
- Case 1 (Z24-0008): Zone change from RD6 (Residential) to RM12 (Multi-dwelling Residential) for property at 1822 Glendale Avenue. - Case 3 (SUP24-0007): Special-use permit for a used auto-sales lot at 2204 North Reynolds Road. Applicant Shafiq Alketshen said the site will provide about 15 spaces for sale plus eight customer spaces (one handicap-accessible). The planning commission recommended approval subject to 26 conditions; the committee forwarded the case to council.
- Case 6 (MDash10-24): Study of self-storage units and potential locational criteria. Planning staff recommended no change at this time after reviewing 34 existing facilities and two proposed sites; the committee forwarded the staff report to council.
- Case 7 (Z24-0006): Zone change from CR (Regional Commercial) to RD6 (Duplex Residential) for properties at 434 South Avenue and 439 Maumee Avenue to allow two modular single-family houses. Applicant Mike Anderson said the modular units will be roughly 1,790 square feet, two-story homes to be sold to homeowners; the planning commission recommended approval and the committee forwarded the case.
- Case 8 (Z24-001): Zone change from CO (Office Commercial) to CR (Regional Commercial) for property at 0 Executive Parkway. Planning staff and council members discussed limiting how far regional commercial zoning should extend back from Executive Parkway; the applicant agreed to community outreach. Each forwarded case will appear on the City Council agenda on April 8. Applicants were instructed to complete paperwork with staff before the council hearing.
