They've submitted it for a compliance review, and we requested a letter of non objection," Jenkins said, adding that FAA staff did not give a firm timeline but that 45 to 90 days is typical. Jenkins described the permit as "very abnormal," saying the FAA review may take extra effort because the permit is nonstandard across the industry.
