Elections staffing: The board approved a statewide contract for temporary staffing services for registration and elections in an amount not to exceed $2,537,035.32 after discussion about markups and the county’s use of temp agencies; the motion passed with a majority (recorded as 5 yeas, 1 nay).
Invest Atlanta Westside TAD item held: Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. moved to hold an Invest Atlanta request to ratify use of existing county property tax increment for three Westside projects so he could consult constituents; the motion to hold passed (vote recorded as 5 yeas, 2 nays). Invest Atlanta staff noted the projects had been approved by the Invest Atlanta board and that staff email updates follow each Invest Atlanta meeting.
Administrative and budget actions: The board corrected a line in the adopted 2025 budget allocating $13.9 million into three buckets (clarified to $4.6 million in one bucket) and approved moving $4.6 million into the county attorney’s budget within the risk management fund to support positions and outside counsel. That vote passed unanimously.
