Achievements and events noted by the student representative included: the Caledonia High School mock trial team winning the Oakland County regional and advancing to the state final tournament (this is the second consecutive year the district has advanced); five broadcast‑journalism students — Draven Reid, Court Thompson, Josie Noble, Andrew Moore and Isaiah Supak — are finalists at the Michigan Student Broadcast Awards with an awards luncheon in Lansing; participation in a student ambassador program and an Art for a Cure silent auction raising approximately $7,000 for Parkinson’s and cancer research; and a “Be Nice” group organizing a 5K on May 17.
