CB2 exec committee readies election logistics, hires meeting producer and readies budget advocacy

Community Board 2's executive committee reviewed several governance and operational items ahead of upcoming elections, including distribution of an online ballot and temporary vendor arrangements for full-board meeting production.
Chair Susan Kent and staff described an election scheduled for Thursday; an online ballot will be distributed a day in advance to allow troubleshooting. The tally committee will include a borough president's office representative, a representative from another elected official and a committee chair. One electoral representative had to recuse himself for ethics reasons and committee members said a different volunteer stepped forward.
With the chair's permission, the committee approved hiring Mark Moss and Harish Studios to produce the full board meeting for the rest of fiscal 25, and the committee discussed budgetary limits: using the vendor's equipment is a short-term solution and could be unsustainable for fiscal 26 without additional funds. The committee said it will reexamine production approaches for the next fiscal year.
Susan Kent said she will submit a letter to council members asking them to increase the community board budget; district managers plan to attend a Government Operations committee hearing to press for more funds. The chair said the board has had no meaningful budget increase in over 16 years beyond salary adjustments required by collective bargaining.
The committee also noted off-site meeting changes for SLA 1 and 2 (Lenox Health Greenwich Village) and reported the city comptroller's audit that had been underway into spending and protocols was terminated (no further audit action was reported). No formal board votes on budget or contract approval were recorded at the executive committee meeting.
