The City Council approved a budget amendment to transfer $36,900 from general-fund excess reserves to pay for sealing three side streets: East Jupiter, East Hibiscus and East Lantana.
Alex Sanchez, Public Works Director, presented the item and described the proposed treatment as a high-mineral-density bond pavement sealer with a five-year warranty and a cost of about $4.10 per square yard. Sanchez said the work is intended as maintenance to extend pavement life and recommended approval.
The nut graf: Council moved the maintenance work forward citing the city's healthy fund balance and the need to preserve street infrastructure; the transfer was approved by voice vote.
A council member moved to approve the $36,900 budget amendment; the motion was seconded and passed with no opposing votes recorded in the transcript. Staff will coordinate scheduling and contractor engagement for the pavement-sealing work.
