Senate approves a slate of local tax extensions, small grants and nominations in floor session

The Senate approved a package of local tax extensions, one-time appropriations and confirmations during its floor session, moving most measures by morning roll call with little floor debate.

The legislation affects municipal hotel/motel/restaurant taxes, small local grants to transit and tourism programs, adjustments to county trust-fund withdrawals and an expansion of a natural-gas district boundary. The chamber also advised and consented to multiple executive nominations to state boards and commissions.
