The Fort Smith Board of Directors on March 18 adopted a resolution amending the board best-practices document.
City staff told the board the item had been discussed at a March 11 study session and that the proposed changes are “minor adjustments to the language to reflect terms and practices currently used,” according to the city attorney’s presentation.
No members of the public signed up to speak on the item. The clerk conducted a roll call and the mayor announced the motion passed unanimously.
The change is procedural and staff described it as aligning the document’s wording with current board practice; no policy or budgetary change was attached to the resolution.
