Councilors asked about the city’s process for selecting a makeup date and about coordination with public-safety staff for enforcement. Trevor said the manager would consult with the police and fire chiefs and that public notice would be issued; the manager said he would likely make calls at least a weekend in advance if weather warranted.
One councilor reiterated a personal preference against fireworks in general but said allowing a single makeup day and placing authority with the manager was a reasonable compromise. The council voted to accept the ordinance preview and to vest the city manager with the authority to declare rain-outs and set the makeup date.
