Vasquez asked for Spanish-speaking volunteers and described the Red Cross's routine work responding to single-family home fires through a Disaster Action Team that can provide immediate goods and short-term financial assistance for lodging. He also promoted the chapter's "Sound the Alarm" program, a one-day event that installs free smoke alarms in a targeted neighborhood in partnership with local fire departments.
Mayor Noor and council members thanked the volunteers and recognized the group's role in local emergency response. The presentation was ceremonial; no formal action was required.
