Council approves consent calendar items, accepts contract completions and names library commission representative

At the March 18 Walnut Creek City Council meeting the body approved several consent calendar items and recorded roll-call votes on multiple agenda motions.
The council approved the consent calendar items a, b, d, h and i in a roll-call vote recorded as unanimous (Aye: Mayor Darling; Mayor Pro Tem Wilk; Council members Silva, Divini and Francois). Council members later pulled specific items for discussion (items 2c, 2e, 2f and 2g were pulled for comment or separate action). After discussion the council approved item 2C (stormwater fee adoption — see separate article).
The council accepted completion of a contract by PublicWorks for the downtown fiber-optic network Phase 2 (Civic Park buildings) and accepted completion of the 2024 Slurry Seal Roadway Project; the council thanked Public Works staff for delivering projects on time and under budget. Both contract-completion items (2E and 2F) were approved by roll-call vote (unanimous).
On appointment item 2G, the council appointed Heather Lervy as the city’s primary representative on the County Library Commission. The motion passed by roll call vote (Aye: Darling, Wilk, Silva, Divini, Francois).
