The Bentonville School District will partner with the local Chamber of Commerce to host a two‑day Career Insights Academy this summer for career‑and‑technical‑education (CTE) teachers and industry partners, district staff told the board March 18.
District CTE staff described a program of workplace tours and an industry‑partner day designed to strengthen advisory‑board relationships and give teachers firsthand exposure to local employers. The first day will include bus tours to three sites—one day at a Walmart campus, a technology employer site and Mercy Hospital—so teachers can see diverse uses of pathway skills. The second day will bring business and industry leaders to the Record for panels, networking, and a Chamber‑hosted “state of talent” luncheon.
Presenters said the goal is mutual benefit: teachers gain context for pathway curricula and credentialing, and industry partners build a stronger recruitment pipeline by connecting directly with teachers and students. The district plans to invite local industry advisory‑board members and noted the Chamber is supporting recruitment and event planning.
The district invited board members to attend, and staff thanked the Chamber for helping organize the event. No formal board action was required.
