Pleasant Grove City Council approved a notice of award for the 1520 West 1100 North to 1800 North roadway reconstruction and culinary waterline project, accepting the low base bid from Bar S Construction Company, LLC.
Public Works staff said the city received eight qualified bids and that the project is funded and under budget. The scope includes a full roadway section replacement and a new water main along the corridor. Public Works noted Bar S had performed prior utility work in the city as a subcontractor and had provided reliable service during an August flooding response.
The project was advertised for public bid; the base bid accepted by council was $1,215,919.90. The motion to award the contract was made by Council Member Anderson and seconded by Council Member Jensen; the council carried the motion by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Public Works said it will follow up with the contractor on subcontractor selections, including asphalt paving subcontractor details.
