The Waukesha Common Council took a series of mostly non-controversial actions at the meeting, including contract approvals, procurement awards and program assessments. Notable votes included:
InTime scheduling contract for the Police Department: The council approved a contract to adopt InTime scheduling software for the police department, consolidating multiple scheduling systems into a cloud-based platform that includes mobile access for officers. Assistant Chief Ty Hoffman presented the request and said the system would reduce supervisory time and consolidate several functions. Alderperson Payne moved to approve; the motion passed unanimously.
Spring 2025 public street tree planting program assessment: The council approved an assessment charge of $397 for newly planted trees in new development areas (the agenda originally listed $297 but staff corrected it during presentation). Staff said the program plans to plant 200 trees citywide, with 47 assessed in new developments and several replacement plantings; the Parks, Rec and Forestry Board recommended the fee increase to cover higher costs. The motion passed 12 to 1.
Concrete pavement patching and traffic-signal bids: The council awarded a low bid for concrete pavement patching to Wandell (low bid, $681,597.50) and awarded the West Sunset Drive / Oakdale Drive traffic signal improvement to Zenith Tech ($393,889.30). Both awards were approved unanimously.
Summer events and contract approvals: The council approved a contract for a children's market at Monday movie nights and the 2025 Summer Jazz and Color Park events; both motions passed unanimously.
Other routine items: The council approved minutes and consent agenda items, and heard reports from boards and commissions.
