The Redlands City Council on March 18 approved a $75,000 settlement in the lawsuit Price v. City of Redlands, San Bernardino Superior Court case number CIVSB2218802, the city attorney reported after closed session.
City Attorney Adam (last name not specified in the transcript) told the council that closed-session items 1–3 produced no reportable action. “Item number 4, in closed session, the city council approved an agreement to settle Mister Price in the amount of $75,000 in exchange for a full release and waiver of liability as the city of Redlands,” the city attorney said. She added the signed agreement will be on file with the city clerk once fully executed.
The city attorney reported the motion to approve the settlement was made by Mayor Pro Tem Shaw, seconded by Council Member Tejeda, and the council voted unanimously to approve it.
The other closed-session matters addressed initiation of litigation (Gov. Code § 54956.9(d)(4)), two real‑property negotiations (Gov. Code § 54956.8) referencing APNs 0292‑481‑930‑000, 0292‑481‑940‑000 and 0171‑191‑300‑000, and an existing litigation matter. The attorney said there was “no reportable action” on closed-session items 1–3.
The settlement vote concludes the city’s action on the Price case at this meeting; the council did not discuss terms in open session beyond the city attorney’s summary. The executed settlement agreement will be available from the city clerk’s office after completion of final paperwork.
