The Cody City Council approved a budget amendment resolution to add $50,183 in expenses for fiscal year 2024–25, with $7,066 in new revenues and a funding gap of $43,117 to be covered from general fund reserves.
The amendment, presented by finance staff member Leslie, increases the snow removal budget by $30,000 to cover contractor costs from a heavier-than-expected winter and includes $10,000 for maintenance and repairs to the City Hall sewer line serving restrooms in the main office. The amendment also reallocated $8,600 to the Community Development Department to purchase communications equipment and an office desk for the incoming Community Development director.
Leslie explained that some of the revenues reflected are operating grants (listed in the amendment as the CPAC grant and the BEST grant) and that the Department of Justice operating grant referenced as “Ballistic BESTRANCE” is included on the revenue side as presented to the council.
Council member Sweat moved to approve Resolution 2025-06; Council member Tamlin seconded the motion. The council voted in favor and the motion carried.
The funding gap of $43,117 will be taken from general fund reserves, according to staff. No council questions were raised during the presentation.
