The Lockhart City Council on March 18 approved a resolution updating park pavilion and swimming pool rental fees and switching from daylong blocks to hourly reservations to improve scheduling flexibility and online booking.
Travis Hughes, Director of Parks and Recreation, told the council the change is intended to make reservations more efficient for citizens and to allow more customers to use park facilities by renting in shorter hourly blocks. Staff will publish the new fee schedule and enable online reservations; in-person reservations will remain available. Council members asked about staffing and cleaning between back-to-back rentals; Hughes said the department is not currently staffed to manage closely back-to-back rentals without additional custodial or maintenance staffing, and that some changes to staffing may be needed to enable multiple same-day bookings at one location.
Action: Council Member Castillo moved to accept Resolution 2025-10 (park pavilion and pool fee updates). Council Member Larson seconded; the motion passed 6-0.
